This song won the 2018 Illawarra Folk Festival songwriting competition, where you had to write a song based on the line "Start your own Revolution, cut out the middleman" from Billy Bragg's song 'waiting for the great leap forwards'.

9am on polling day
I am talking to a candidate
who fills me with dismay
And meanwhile a thousand miles away
There are others far less fortunate
Who don't have food or water yet
So why have you got nothing to say?

And if you won't start it for me I will start my own revolution
You know there has to be a better way out there

I fill fight for a better solution
Because this country doesn't need more millionaires
It just needs ordinary people to care
